The Sofia Goodman Group is a modern jazz ensemble that performs the original compositions of drummer and composer Sofia Goodman.

The group has performed at The Elkhart Jazz Festival, The USM Jazz & Blues Festival, Rudy’s Jazz Room, The Velvet Note, and more. Goodman’s first album Myriad of Flowers was inspired by fusion and jazz influences and was nominated for Best Jazz Album by NIMA in 2019. The Nashville Scene described Goodman’s work as “truly progressive and fundamentally jazz…a reason to be excited about the continuing evolution of jazz in Music City.” Goodman’s drumming was described as “brilliant” by Tony Rounce of Ace Recordsa as well. In 2020, she was nominated as Best Jazz Instrumentalist by NIMA and won The Pathways to Jazz Grant. Her next album Secrets of the Shore is due to be released in early 2023, and features musicians Joel Frahm, Matt White and more.
