Teen Town is a DownBeat award-winning powerhouse jazz fusion trio led by the multiple award-winning bassist Gabriel Severn (15), with Logan Bedard (17) on drums and Connor Rohrer (19) on keys. Recently nominated for a Central Pennsylvania Music Award for Best Jazz Band/Artist, these teen phenoms are taking audiences by storm with their energy, their undeniable chemistry, and their exceptional talent. Named after one of the great jazz fusion tunes of the 1970s, their sets span several genres and decades, and include originals as well as covers by luminaries such as the Average White Band, Weather Report, and Chick Corea. Close your eyes and you’d think they’d been playing together for decades. Teen Town hit the ground running since their debut in 2017. They immediately started touring throughout PA, and within two years received the DownBeat award and the Best Jazz Band/Artist nomination. The band has taken the stage at many festivals and venues, including the Boscov’s Berks Jazz Fest, the Dauphin County Wine & Jazz Festival, and the Scranton Jazz Festival. They’ve opened for several major artists including Sheila E., the Victor Wooten Trio, and the Tierney Sutton Band. TV and radio features include ABC TV’s Good Day PA, WVIA FM Homegrown Sessions, and a live studio WVIA Homegrown Concert. 2020 will see Teen Town appearing again at the 30th Anniversary Berks Jazz Fest, touring the Midwest, and recording their first album.
“Teen Town unassumingly walked onstage, then proceeded to floor the place with 30 minutes of jazz fusion covers from such luminaries as Weather Report and David Sanborn.” -The Reading Eagle
