It was in 2008 that Billboard chart-topping keyboardist Jonathan Fritzén burst onto the scene with his debut recording ‘Love Birds’. At the time it was described as reaching the very core of what great smooth jazz should be about and now, ten years and six albums later, he is marking what has been a memorable decade with his “10th Anniversary Tour” that will be coming to Elkhart in June of this year.

‘Love Birds’ was completed shortly before Jonathan graduated from the Royal College of Music in Stockholm and proved to be a springboard to his success. As the Swedish American Fritzén himself explains it,

“The day after graduation, I took a flight to LA, rented a car and drove around to every single record label and radio station I could think of hoping to get signed.”

The fact that nothing immediately happened was secondary to his motivation and the energy he had to keep on pushing. That is exactly what he did and, as the vision morphed into a reality, he is now able to boast five Billboard Top 5 singles and three #1 albums on the Smoothjazz.com charts.

Known for his high-octane live performances, Fritzén has appeared at major festivals across the USA and around the world. Along the way he has worked with the likes of Dave Koz, Boney James and Gerald Albright while as for the “10th Anniversary Tour” Jonathan sees it as a way of giving back to the fans that have supported him over that time.

“I’m so thankful” Fritzén explains. “I want to give my fans a special show with songs from all my records as well as some of the great funk and jazz classics that influenced me so much while growing up. It’s gonna be a party!!!”
