Zac Zinger – Woodwinds
Zac Zinger is an award-winning composer, arranger, orchestrator, music supervisor, and multi- instrumentalist with years of experience in a wide variety of mediums. His innovative technique and style on the shakuhachi (Japanese bamboo flute), as well as the unique multicultural blend
of his compositions have garnered critical acclaim at home and abroad.
Zac plays saxophones, shakuhachi, flute, clarinet, EWI (Electronic Wind Instrument), and a host of world flutes. He has performed in twelve countries, in esteemed venues such as Carnegie Hall, The Blue Note, and Jazz at Lincoln Center, and has been credited for musical
contributions to 78 commercial music releases and counting, two of which have won Grammy Awards. He has worked with such musical luminaries as Sir Paul McCartney, Branford Marsalis, Michael Bublé, Dionne Warwick, Audra McDonald, Bear McCreary, and Tituss Burgess, and is a regular member of the Grammy Award winning 8-Bit Big Band and Adam Neely’s Jazz School.
Adam Neely – Bass
Adam Neely is a bassist, composer and YouTuber with an engaged subscriber base of over 1 million people. His educational content explores what music means, and what it means to be a musician. He has appeared on NPR, TEDx, Vox, SiriusXM, SXSW, Ableton Loop, MAGfest, Bass Player Magazine, Electronic Musician Magazine and Ultimate Guitar. His videos cover a wide range of topics in music theory, music cognition, jazz improvisation, musical performance technique, musicology and memes.
Adam graduated summa cum laude with a BA in Jazz Composition from the Berklee College of Music in 2009, and graduated with an MM in Jazz Composition from the Manhattan School of Music in 2012, studying under Jim McNeely. He has since worked as a bass player and educator in New York City with artists like Shubh Saran, Zac Zinger, Aberdeen, the NYChillharmonic, the 8-bit big band, J-Music Ensemble and many others. As a composer, Adam won the ASCAP Young Jazz Composer award in 2011, 2012, 2014, as well as the Jerome Fund commission in 2014 for his piece exigence. He has performed and toured across North America and Europe as a bassist for a wide variety of rock, pop and jazz artists.
