Featuring three powerful horns and a driving rhythm section, The Rad Trads are consistently winning over audiences with energy, charisma and enthusiasm. The New York-based band brings a diverse style of soulful American music. Their influences range from early jazz to New Orleans brass band, R&B to the Chicago and delta blues, and rock ‘n’ roll. In the past year, the group has had main stage performances at festivals in Atlanta and Columbus, Ohio, and opened for Taj Mahal and Buddy Guy at the Russian River Jazz & Blues Fest in Sonoma County, Calif. They also had a month-long run in Europe, which featured notable collaborations in Italy with Paolo Fresu. Alden Harris McCoy (guitar), John Fatum (percussion) and Michael Harlen (bass) provide vocals. Other band members are Michael Fatum (trumpet), Patrick Sargent (tenor sax), Sam Crittenden (trombone) and Jamie Eblen (percussion).
