The Terry & The Pirates Band is a unique collection of old friends from Central Florida who are all veterans of the festival and jazz party circuits.  In fact, two of the members, Terry Myers and Eddie Metz are past recipients of the EJF Lifetime Achievement Award.  Terry assembled this swing/trad group in 2000 at the request of the Mammoth Lakes, CA, festival directors.  The Pirates made quite an impression there but we’re not reunited until 2018 when they were asked to appear at the Suncoast Jazz Festival in Clearwater, FL.  The band had been idle from 2000-2018 because the members were too busy with their own musical careers.  The Pirates musicians hail from The Black Dogs Jazz Band, Bill Allred’s Classic Jazz Band & Rosie O’Grady’s Good Time Jazz Band.  Terry also travels the world as leader of The Tommy Dorsey Orchestra.  Some of the members have appeared at the EJF as members of all-star groups.
